Description

The RY series thermal fuse is designed for an operating current of 10A, an operating voltage of 250V. When the rated temperature RY-121 is exceeded, the stop mechanism works out – the fusible element melts, which opens the RY-121 thermal fuse circuit. Also, the RY-121 thermal fuse is designed to protect against current overload. If one of the specified parameters is exceeded (rated fuse tripping temperature, operating current), the circuit opens and de-energizes, thereby preventing a fire.  Non-resettable thermal fuses RY-121 are used in air conditioners, automobiles, hairdryers, electric motors, and various household appliances; they serve to protect electronic circuits from current overload or overheating.

Since the RY-121 fuse is not resettable, it must be replaced after it has blown.

The blown time of the  RY-121 fuses depends on the amperage passing through the fuse element. So, with a short circuit, when the current is very high, the fuses blow out quickly enough, and in this most dangerous case, they serve as a simple, cheap and reliable wired.

It should be noted that instead of soldering the thermal fuse RY-121, you can crimp the contacts. With this method, the replacement of the RY-121 thermal fuse is greatly simplified, due to the fact that the thermal fuse leads are located to the side (axial).
